~~~ Stephen Hicks ~~~
Stephen Hicks from a very young age could not accept explanations of how things worked in the world given to him by teachers, parents, church, and peers. Thought of as a 'problem child' and at 17 judged and institutionalized because of his of inability to focus in high school, as a drug addict, alcoholic, and sociopath (he had no feelings of guilt) ...later a more reputable psychologist diagnosed him as simply having ADD.
Stephen eventually found some comfort in quiet focus, and the study of art, symbology, and music became his passion. He has studied the Drum with such greats as Babatunde Olatunji, Arthur Hull, and many others. Forming circles in various communities, his style of odd rhythmic trance drumming has inspired personal journeys into the Shamanic and Timeless worlds of the “other side”.
Living out of a van for several years, he lived in the desert of Arizona and eventually came to the Pacific Northwest where he has put his roots in. Stephen has experienced the paranormal since very early and has had many profound experiences, later reading or meeting someone with the knowledge to explain them. Finding the School of Ancient Wisdom in 1997 was simply a matter of course, and he is now working to take charge of his dreams.
"Katrina: Midst of Aftermath"
Returning after 10 weeks with FEMA in the New Orleans area, Stephen reports that even war veterans have never seen anything like this.  How did this change peoples lives, in other than the obvious ways?  Is it possible to be saved by your attitude?  "You can create your own comfort zone and stock piling like a little squirrel can be fun!  Being prepared is definitely important, but preparing your mind is more important.  If you don't change then eventually something is going to happen to make you change."
Judged a drug addict with "no remorse or guilt" and sociopath at 17 (he wasn't either, experimenting in drugs came much later) led to realizing that answers were not in what he was being told and set out to find them.  He shares his many adventures from, at age twelve building a device to communicate with aliens, first starving on the streets of L.A. then feeding the homeless while living in his van, studying Castanada in the desert, love and lust, metaphysical and worldly experiences, to ultimately finding Ramtha's School and getting answers to life-long questions.  "There is a guiding compass within you..." he says, and you will be delighted by the way that he follows his and no one else's!
