~~~ Lynne McTaggart ~~~
Author and internationally recognized spokesperson on the science of spirituality.
The Field was a major influence on the wildly successful cult classic movie,
'What the BLEEP Do We Know!?' and Lynne starred in the BLEEP's full version, 'Down the Rabbit Hole.'
Lynne McTaggart is an award-winning journalist and author of five books, including the The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe, which tells the story of a group of frontier scientists who discovered that the Zero Point Field - an ocean of subatomic vibrations in the space between things - connects everything in the universe, much like the Force in Star Wars.
Lynne began this research as a personal quest to see if any new scientific theories could explain how homeopathy and spiritual healing work. She traveled to meet with top frontier scientists around the world. The Field is superbly written and fascinating.
Now Lynne embarks on an evolution of her research, by asking a great question. Can our thoughts influence the world around us? Top scientists team up with her to create the world's largest ever mind-over-matter experiment and test this extraordinary possibility throughout 2007. Tens of thousands of volunteers from around the world are being recruited to participate in a series of web-based experiments, making it the largest mind-over-matter study in history.
Lynne's new book The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World forms the catalyst for the trials. Working with her are leading physicists and psychologists such as, Dr. Gary Schwartz; German physicist Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp; Dr. Robert Jahn and Brenda Dunne; and Drs Marilyn Schlitz and Dean Radin.
Through www.theintentionexperiment.com readers of Lynne's new book are invited to register and participate, to test the power of their thoughts.   Website specialists working with the scientists through the website will coordinate reader involvement and track results.
Lynne is also founder and editor (with her publisher husband Bryan Hubbard) of a public company called
What Doctors Don't Tell You Ltd that publishes newsletters and books about alternative health.
The Intention Experiment, firmly grounded in science, explains how human thoughts and intentions are an actual physical something - a tangible energy with the astonishing power to affect our world.  It is also a riveting one-of-a kind, gripping tale that will make an enormous and lasting impact.
The beautiful "Mermaid's Wineglass", one of the four remote targets in Dr. Popp's lab.
The mermaid's wineglass (Acetabularia crenulata) is one of the prettiest and most delicate plants that frequently elicits exclamations from first time viewers!  Typically about 5 cm in height with the "wineglass" only 1 cm in diameter, it is found in shallow, sheltered waters attached to rocks and other shallow substrates.  The "stem" and "wineglass" is partially calcified like many other green algae (Halimeda spp. or Cymopolia spp.).  Amazingly, each "stem" and "wineglass is actually a single huge cell.
"The Largest Least Known Social Movement in History"
Imagine clearing polluted water with mass intention! Especially after flooding or other disasters that contaminate water sources; changing bacteria, we know adaptive mutations are common with e. coli, and Lynne is working on the protocol; how about reducing the hazard of radioactive waste? Experiments can be very expensive thus first requiring a lot of planning with scientists; good news! More organizations are getting involved such as the Global Peace Experiment with Deepak Chopra set for September this year. Roger Nelson with his EGG Project and REG's all over the world may be very interested in tracking this event. "It's all happening very easily, there is much more acceptance now of the concept of Zero Point energy, it's even in cartoons!" she tells the "Owl and Snake" story, a great example of the power of fear and an unintended intention being embedded in the water; two stories with amazing side effects; and Lynne, normally impervious to criticism (in her work on WDDTY she is insulted regularly by the medical profession!) had a profound experience facing a very negative and offensive person that much affected her --then an astonishing display by the group she was addressing; Living the Field was in response to being asked, "how can I live this?" downloads of sections of her four-year course are now available by subjects here; what about the headline "NASA baffled by unexplained force acting on space probes"... has Lynne been messing with NASA?? (grin) Lynne reports people from all walks of life are recognizing a paradigm shift happening and millions of organizations working towards positive change and social justice, it's the largest social movement in history, although currently atomized one wonders for how long? "Part of this challenge with living with intention is working on yourself in order to promote a global transformation, is our attitude me, me, me? or we, we, we? The implications of not being separate are enormous."
"A Messenger with Quite a Message!"
The preface for "The Field" has been expanded due to many questions of how she wrote it ...she thought it would be relatively easy, just go talk to a bunch of scientists. But she discovered a new science emerging that was redefining our concept of reality. How to take science talk (mathematics) and translate this for everybody else? In the process of writing it, along with the gnashing of teeth... something strange was happening, it changed the messenger! The investigative reporter became a non-fiction writer "it was an alchemical process." Lynne became a great messenger of how science is defining us "this field of all potential has really grabbed people's imagination, it brings a sense of hope and possibility." Just as she has done with What Doctors Don't Tell You the WDDTY journal is described as the best in the world. "Modern medicine is killing people, it's great for trauma but not for chronic problems." The shocking statistics of death from correctly subscribed drugs, procedures, and surgeries! Updates on the Intention Experiment water is getting very interesting, there are 64 things about water that don't seem to conform to physical laws, and it appears to retain memory! Certain focused intent on water could effect every living thing... and Dr. Emoto is very interested. "Water is life!" Then there's the Global Lab scientists intend putting together....
"On the Brink"
Technical problems of 10,000+ people participating at once brought things to the brink of disaster, the only solution was an impossible cost of up to $15k per experiment! So Lynne decided to engage in an intention for herself, that these technical distractions from her main intent be solved. Only a couple days later she got a call from a group of executives who could help her for no charge *and* had an ingenious idea. Voila, problem solved! "I had to take my own medicine and walk the talk" and that she did, bravo as she quit focusing on what wasn't happening; the 'intention of the week' was born; so many overlapping responses to Madeleine McCann's disappearance they were sent to the police; great study on seeds; and an experiment had no measurable effects, or did it...? The "Biology of Transformation" conference with Dr. Bruce Lipton coming very soon among others, and changing commerce and global responsibility. "We have to rethink everything from children to corporations, people are realizing we are on the brink."
"Critical Mass"
The funny thing about science, when you ask a question you get an answer and not necessarily what you expect. Scientific fundamentalism leans towards confirming the prevailing view, too often to preserve jobs and grants. The Intention Experiment however has the attention of the open minded. Each test reveals clues, not only to the technical challenges but also to things like possible critical mass through participating on the web vs. a group gathering physically. Ultimately Lynne wants to get to the philanthropic targets, ecology, crime rate, hospitals, children with disabilities, the potentials are endless. Next will be a human target, with Dean Radin (IONS), a water experiment, and a germinating study.
"The Little Leaf that Glowed"
The first online Intention Experiment was such an overwhelming success the server crashed, how exciting!  It's exciting because it did so in spite of being technically prepared for a huge response!  Also, the very large group attending the experiment at a conference at U of AZ, yielded such remarkable results that they will be published in a scientific journal.  A lively forum has developed where participants are doing their own intention experiments!  "We're all just Christopher Columbus without a compass, ...to discover we have this ability, to affect the world, is so exciting for us... we've lived with limitation for so long!"   The main thing is, this brings hope... if we can change a little leaf....
NOTE: What does it take for you to participate? Read the book plus 15 minutes of your time on a Saturday!  The next Intention Experiment: April 14th, 2007 5pm GMT
"Asking the Great Questions"
Can our mind, collective intentions and thoughts really have an effect on the world?   Can it be proven by science?   To find out Lynne created the world's largest intention experiment!  "I can't guarantee it will work, all I can say with certainty is that we are going to ask an outrageous question, can our thoughts change the world?"   Lynne's new book, "The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World" is the inspiration and now there is a consortium of scientists behind this worldwide unprecedented experiment to test the power of thought.  Through the web Lynne has created a community to bring together consciousness and intention on many levels; the big experiment; monitoring and reporting personal experience; courses and events schedule, and more.  How are mainstream scientists reacting?   What have we learned about the failures with group prayer studies?  And Lynne explains how to learn focused intent.
NOTE: Reader's of "The Intention Experiment" are invited to participate in the world's largest mind-over-matter experiment!   Register at The Intention Experiment before March 24th, 2007, when the experiment begins.   Lynne also invites you to join the community, take this into your life, and see what you can do.
