Before we were to air our first program, we wrote to Dr. Chopra to invite him to speak on our new program. His publicist, Jude Hedlund, was delightful and scheduled a time for us to pre-record. We were to have 45 minutes, unfortunately technical difficulties abounded (which Dr. Chopra bore well) and we were able to finally record only a 20 minute segment.

This affirmation is about shared humanity.
Human nature is handed out one person at a time, yet we all share it. Ego tries to ignore the second half of that statement. It rushes into any situation with the assumption that "I" have the most important ideas, feelings, and perceptions. Spirit sees all thoughts as shared, all feelings as shared, and all perceptions as shared. This is a tremendous gift. Your capacity to see the world from beyond your own boundaries is precious - the true self will help you to gain a wider perspective if you are open to it. Give yourself permission to expand. Be aware of how others view a situation. When perception is fully aware, love and compassion enter spontaneously.

This affirmation is also about communion. Love is the next step after acceptance. Try this today. See someone without having any opinion at all - perhaps a child playing in the park or a diner sitting in a cafe, at a table for one. Tune in to the simple being that each of us shares. Isn't there love in appreciating a passing face, a gesture, or a glance? When you consider someone without assumptions, your inner antenna picks up a new signal. Instead of tuning in to someone's personality, you tune in to his or her essence. This essence is spirit, and when you detect it, the natural response is love.
